FEBRUARY SUMMARY
TOTAL = 103 hours, 59 minutes
Walking = 2 HRS 25 mins
Running = 51 minutes
Allotment = 30 mins
More Holiday Fun (thank the Lord!) = 100 HRS 13 mins
Being in Sri Lanka for the first two weeks of February was honestly the holiday of a lifetime, and words can't express how fortunate I feel to have been able to have this opportunity as part of my life. We made it our mission to explore as much of the Island as possible, which meant lots of time spent in the great outdoors getting to experience all of the beauty that this part of the World has to offer.
In the first 3 days alone we racked up 33 hours outside on 3 day Safari across two of Sri Lanka's National Parks, Udawalawe and Yala. During our time here, we actually stayed in Canvas tents too - although there have been debates about whether being in a tent counts towards my 'outside hours' or not!
I'll do a longer, more explanatory post about my time in Sri Lanka, the route that we took around, and all of the different things that we did there - because there was A LOT!
Once we got back from our trip of a lifetime however, the Outdoors Hours rapidly began to decrease as an extremely busy period at work (not helped by having almost three weeks off!), bad weather, and generally still feeling knackered from all of the adventuring took it's toll on my time.
This was to the extent that I was only able to add an extra 3 hours between getting home on the 13th February and the end of the month on the 28th which I was a bit disheartened about in all honesty!
I did however manage to get myself on a 51 minute run - something which is a miracle in itself in all honesty! - around Sutton Park when spending the weekend in Sutton Coldfield with Andy's family. It was pretty cold and foggy when I set off, but as time went on and the temperature warmed it actually turned into a really lovely day and a lovely run as a result.
I'm not one for road running a lot, and rely on pretty places to keep me distracted with views when I'm out to stop my brain from giving in and convincing me to stop. On of the things which I aim to do more on this year is to try out trail running around some of The Peaks. I dabbled in it last summer when I started going out on walks and really enjoyed the views, with the changing surfaces and elevations keeping my mind occupied instead of thinking of my dislike of running haha.
So that's my February.
I am incredibly nervous for March and the amount of hours that I will be able to dedicate to being outside. I am away with work a lot, and know that the weather is unlikely to be the best. I just hope that I manage to push through and get outdoors even if it may not be quite as tropic as the weather in Sri Lanka!

Once again, I have to seriously thank my time in Sri Lanka for the phenomenal hours that I managed to clock this month! It's safe to say that I definitely won't be managing to pack in this many hours throughout March - not without quitting my job anyway...!
I'm now roughly on 12% of 2019 having been spent outside, and it's all going to get a lot tougher from here. 5% is the amount of time that most people manage in their lifetime, so I'm super happy to be at almost double the average - but I can't help but feel that 12% still seems super low! Such is the modern, indoor-based life that we lead I guess...
But anyway, here is how February has been for me!
